MUSINGS OF A TALKATIVE PT 1

Dear love of my life,

I am in quite a reflective mood today; I trust you have had a wonderful day?

I engaged in a conversation with a good friend (Steven Borketey) today on our way to the hall from the office. We saw a used condom on the road and I lamented on how cheap and stupid some young ladies can be in the 21st century to forget their honor and allow themselves to be used in public and open places. Our conversation led to a lot of discussions and we finally came to the conclusion that there are a lot of problems with our generation.

We have given sweet names to grave sins. We nurture today the very things that will hurt our futures. With the influx of social media, we have put filters on dirty and useless things to make them nice.  We have misappropriated Grace and now use it as justification for sin. The young lady now defines her beauty by what so-called celebrities have defined. People are wallowing in self-pity because they do not match up to some standards that have been set by others.

Like the madman of Gadara, we are piercing ourselves with stones and yet not feeling the pain because of our ego, stupidity and the madness defined for us by our generation. Our egos have become for us the anesthesia that deadens the pain of our stupidity. We now consider the advice of the ages archaic and outdated. We have diluted deep truths and now play with very important and delicate ideas and issues. Foreign influence and social media have made us lose track of our very identities, we have become like the living dead. Confused, degenerated and yet refusing help. We have learned to eloquently and zealously justify wrongdoing.

Our understanding of love, morality, origin, and purpose are misconstrued. Ours now is a world of instant gratification and so we have failed to appreciate and understand the essence of process and waiting.  We are so entitled and quick to blame others for the consequences of our actions instead of reflecting and taking responsibility for our own actions.

The 21st century with it’s inventions is in a constant attempt to change our whole philosophy and perspective, it tries to reorient our morals and values by trying to normalize immorality, giving sweet names to deep Spiritual problems and trying to find an explanation to supernatural occurrences. It has taught us to crave for attention while devaluing our very selves, it has taught us to put filters on things to show that our lives are beautiful Even though we may be broken and need help deep inside. It has caused us depression by letting us envy and crave for what others portray to have.

Dearest, I wouldn’t like to bother you with a long post……you Know I am a talkative right?. I have continued this letter in the next post which you can choose to read now or at another time, I will be waiting to read your feedback.

your dearest,

P.

  1. Interesting P and a true reflection of our standards today. Hoping the next post will reveal how we can find true definition of our individuality.
